To ensure the safety of the public when using “electric vehicle charging equipment,” it is now mandated that electric vehicle charging equipment with networking capabilities be managed remotely and provide services without introducing information security risks. On June 29, 2023, the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection announced a revision to the VPC system for “electric vehicle charging equipment,” incorporating information security verification. This mandatory implementation will take effect from July 1, 2024.
The previous verification standards will be discontinued starting July 1, 2024.
